Retail Business Leader (Store Leader)
With a background of 20+ years in retail, working at Fantastic Furniture was the first time Ali had experienced what it was like to truly feel cared for and individually recognised by a company.
When Ali first moved to Australia he worked relentlessly in FMCG Retail, with little work-life balance. It was long days with nonstop work, and occasionally without any breaks or time for lunch.
Eventually the impact on his personal life and health became the catalyst for change.
This was the wakeup call that Ali needed to find a company that truly valued its team members and allowed him to prioritise family and a work-life balance. “I never expected or believed that I would be recognised as an individual or feel so cared for by a company.”
Married and busy with a young family – life as a Store Leader is good for Ali. Day to day his work at the store involves the general responsibility of running the store, and taking care of the team to make sure they get what they need to consistently perform to their best.
It’s the seemingly small things that make a big difference to Ali. Like a cake on your birthday, making sure you go home and rest when you’re not feeling 100%, and the opportunities to attend company conferences.
